An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Revenues Team to provide a customer focused Revenues service. The role includes the billing, collection and recovery of council tax in accordance with statutory and discretionary provisions in a timely and accurate manner.
We are looking for an ambitious individual, to help lead our newly restructured Revenues Officers, and to create a culture that drives high levels of customer satisfaction; a value for money ethos; and an internal resource of practical and helpful legislative knowledge.
The Team Leader will be responsible for a number of staff, who you will lead in promoting an enthusiastic and customer focused approach to their work. The work of this post will involve the delivery of billing for council tax.
Experience in Revenues administration, or a similar environment is important. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of achievement and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, inspire and motivate others. Applicants must have experience in customer services, accurate data entry and Microsoft Office and a knowledge of council tax legislation. A knowledge of the Civica Open Revenues and the Anite@work document management system would be ideal but not essential.
You will need to have five GCSE's at Grade C or above, particularly in English and Maths. The role involves a large amount of customer contact via telephone, face to face and in writing. It is therefore essential that candidates are numerate and literate, and have good communication and interpersonal skills. A 'can do' attitude and a desire to balance the needs of the customer with those of the council are also important to us.
You must be available to work Monday to Thursday 8:30-5:30 and Friday 8:30-5:00 on a flexi time basis.
You will be based at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke near the top of town, a very short walk from Festival Place shopping centre providing plentiful lunchtime shopping and dining choices
