We are looking to recruit two Assessment Officers who are enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Benefit Assessors to join our team. One contract will be a 12 month fixed term and the other will be an 18 month fixed term contract. You must have current experience of assessing all types of housing benefit and council tax support applications and an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of benefit/CTS legislation. You will also want to be part of a team dedicated to providing first class customer service, be flexible, self-motivated and know the importance of working both as part of that team as well as being able to work on your own initiative.
You will accurately assess all types of applications for housing benefit and council tax support and give information and advice for all types of Benefits and Council Tax Support related customer queries both on the telephone and to personal callers.
Your experience will ideally include use of the Academy Benefits system and Civica document management systems.You will have a good standard of education and be computer literate.
You will be joining the Council at an exciting time as we are transforming the way we deliver our services to our customers through our Customer First project. This is a radical transformation programme which will make more services available online so residents and businesses can access them at times convenient to them and at much less cost to the Council, enabling us to focus on those who may need more support.
