Revenues and Benefits Officer

Stockport Council’s Revenues and Benefits department is a fast paced and exciting place to work. You will be working with an ambitious award winning team providing an important service to the residents of Stockport.

We are looking to appoint a number Revenues & Benefits Officers. You will be required administer Housing Benefit applications, or Council Tax and Business Rates accounts. If you don’t have any knowledge of these areas, we will help you to develop the skills and experience you already have.
If you have had a career break and not worked in a Local Authority for a while your skills may be a bit rusty but we can soon get you back up to speed. We are also keen to speak to people who have worked in similar data processing roles for example within the Civil Service, tax, insurance or banking industry.

It is one of the most sought-after locations in the region. Manchester is just 7 miles away and the national motorway and rail network pass through the town centre.
The town centre offers a 750 year-old market, the latest most desirable stores and great bars and restaurants. Sports and leisure opportunities include golf courses, leisure centres, award-winning local parks, country manor houses, heritage sites and numerous family day-outs.
The Council and its partners is investing around £1 billion into a range of ambitious projects such as a new leisure development, Redrock Stockport which includes a ten screen multiplex cinema as well as a range of retail, restaurants and bars. There is also Stockport Exchange, a modern, mixed-use destination combining office space, a hotel and excellent retail and leisure facilities.
Salary will be dependent on experience.
