Revenues Officer – Business Rates

Starting Salary £16,958
We are seeking a self-motivated and flexible candidate to join our busy Revenues (NNDR) team based at our busy Thetford office, however you may be required to work at other sites within the partnership area.
As a Revenues Officer, your main duties will be to assist in the billing, collection & recovery of Business Rates to ensure Business Rates income is received promptly & efficiently.
You will deal with local businesses by phone, in writing and face to face, so you should be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with conflict under pressure. You will also be involved in liaison work with numerous stakeholders such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, Enforcement Team, the Valuation Office Agency and general public.
Candidates require a good standard of general education and ideally be familiar with Business Rates legislation, process, procedures and policies. You will be part of a wider Revenues team and expected to contribute fully to the team’s achievement of performance targets. You should also have proven I.T skills and you must be willing to use new information technology; previous experience of ACADEMY and CIVICA or working in a Revenues environment would be a great advantage.
